July 2014: Glenrock herd to go under the hammer
The Glenrock herd, with the exception of the herd’s matriarch Glenrock Spangle, will be offered for sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, on Friday 22 August.
Included in the sale will be 35 cows with calves at foot, including the first calves to be sold by the herd’s exciting junior stock bull Mistic Gucci. Alongside these will be five embryo calves suckling recipient dams, four in-calf heifers and 19 bulling and maiden heifers. Also on offer will be the stock bulls Mistic Gucci and Glenrock Humdinger and six yearling bulls. A small selection of Bremore Artist and Glenrock Spartacus semen will also be offered for sale on the day.
It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to sell the herd, but having recently agreed the purchase of our farm we are selling the herd to fund the future development of the business.
The sale will also feature a tremendous crop of yearling heifers, many with future show potential, as well as an outstanding selection of in-calf heifers. These will include the show winning heifer Glenrock Illusion, which was interbreed champion at Cumberland Show, reserve junior interbreed at the Royal Highland Show and junior Limousin champion at the Great Yorkshire Show.
Also in the sale will be the former show heifer Glenrock Fantastic, the reserve breed champion at the Highland, Great Yorkshire and Scottish Limousin Grand Prix in 2013 and Glenrock Black Hannah, reserve senior Limousin female at last year’s Stars of the Future calf show.
The Glenrock herd was the champion herd in the 2013 North West Limousin Club’s herd competition, having been placed first in the large herd section. Glenrock Illusion was also named the best young heifer in the same competition, with the herd winning a second in the youngstock class.

June 2014: Reserve junior interbreed champion for Illusion at the Royal Highland Show
Following on from her interbreed success at Cumberland Show Glenrock Illusion stood junior champion and reserve junior interbreed at the Royal Highland Show.
Born January 2013 this Goldies Comet daughter is out of the prolific breeding dam Glenrock Spangle. Her maternal sister, Glenrock Fantastic was reserve breed champion at the Royal Highland and Great Yorkshire Shows in 2013.
June 2014: Glenrock Illusion scoops interbreed championship at Cumberland Show
Our summer show season got off to a great start at Cumberland Show with Glenrock Illusion winning the Limousin championship before going on to take the overall interbreed championship. She is a January 2013-born Goldies Comet daughter out of the prolific breeding Glenrock Spangle. She is a maternal sister to Glenrock Fantastic who was reserve breed champion at the Royal Highland and Great Yorkshire Shows in 2013.
We also stood third with another Comet daughter, Glenrock Horizon, her dam is the Bremore Artist daughter Glenrock Eternal.
June 2014: Glenrock Hanibullo makes 4900gns at Carlisle
The June Limousin sale at Carlisle saw our December 2012-born bull Glenrock Hanibullo make 4900gns. This Bremore Artist son is out of Gelnrock Campari, herself a Cloughhead Lord daughter out of the noted breeder Glenrock Spangle, he sold to T W Hamilton and Son, Biggar, Lanarkshire.
Thomas’ own bull Eagleside Hoffmeister made 4000gns, also by Bremore Artist and this time out of the Limo Tanat daughter Brookmill Carrie. He was knocked down to D J Moffat, Gretna.
May 2014: Glenrock Hector makes 5500gns at Stirling
Following on from a good day at Carlisle we also sold well at Stirling, taking 5500gns for Glenrock Hector. This son of Carmorn Copilot had stood second in his class in the pre-sale show behind the eventual overall champion and is out of the Bremore Artist daughter Glenrock Dior. He sold to the Crofters Commission for the Scottish Government Stud.
May 2014: Glenrock Ideal trades at 12,000gns in Carlisle
Sale leader for the Glenrock pen of bulls at Carlisle this month was the Goldies Comet son, Glenrock Ideal. This first prize winner in his class is out of the Kype Interrogate daughter and one of the herd’s most proven breeders Glenrock Spangle, making Ideal full brother to the 2013 junior champion at the Stars of the Future Show Glenrock Icemaiden who went on to sell for 8000gns at eight months of age. With a beef value of +33, he sold to G H Walton and Sons, Hexham, Northumberland.
Meanwhile, selling for 3000gns was Glenrock Hindsight, a Bial son out of the Bremore Artist daughter Glenrock Danielle, herself a daughter of the Jersey sired Glenrock Bluebelle. He sold to N R and D E Ingham. Castleford, West Yorkshire.
January 2014: Mistic Gucci semen now available
A limited amount of semen from our junior herd sire Mistic Gucci is now available for sale. A son of the 50,000gns sire Wilodge Cerberus, Gucci is out of Bremore Victoria, a Nenuphar daughter and has a beef value, 400 day growth figure and muscle depth all in the top 1% of the breed.
He is a very long bull, well muscled and extremely docile. A successful show bull in Ireland in the summer of 2012, Gucci was crowned all Ireland Junior Champion that year.
Semen is available to purchase via the online semen sales website Semenstore.
December 2013: Glenrock Eiger daughter takes Smithfield championship
We are delighted to send our congratulations to Drew Hyslop and his partner Katie Davidson on their recent success at the East of England Smithfield Festival with their Charolais cross heifer Bang Tidy.
This 602kg heifer is a daughter of the 6000gns sire Glenrock Eiger bred at Glenrock and sold to the Nisbet family, Sorn, Mauchline. This heifer was bred by Hugh and Lynne Dunlop, Holehouse, Ochiltree, and its tremendous to see Eiger breeding so well for those using him.
Bang Tidy was described by judge Archie MacGregor, Kilsyth, as the ultimate show beast and a more than worthy Smithfield winner. “She handles exceptionally well, has a great loin and length to her and has that all important added sparkle needed in the showring. She was without question the best beast here today.”
She later sold for £8000 to William and Robert Woodward of Bowood Yorkshire Lamb buying on behalf of Harrods.
Craig Malone and Katreen Millar also enjoyed success at Smithfield with an Eiger daughter, Mischevious, when they also won their class.
Our congratulations go to all involved in the breeding and showing of these two tremendous heifers and we look forward to seeing more Eiger progeny in the years to come
November 2013: Glenrock heifers fare well at Scottish Winter Fair
Following on from their success at the Stars of the Future Calf Show the Glenrock herd’s calf team was on good form again at last weekend’s Scottish Winter Fair, Ingliston, where Glenrock Illusion, Glenrock Black Hannah and Glenrock Horizon were all placed in strong classes.
In the intermediate female class judge Willie McLaren placed Glenrock Black Hannah second, with Glenrock Horizon following her in third.
November 2012-born Black Hannah is by 25,000gns sire Bailea Black BMW out of Glenrock Caviar, herself a Tarbally daughter. Glenrock Horizon is another December-born heifer, this time a daughter of 23,000gns sire Goldies Comet out of Glenrock Eternal, a Bremore Artist daughter.
In the junior female class Glenrock Illusion also fared well, picking up a second place. Illusion is a January-born daughter of Comet out of Glenrock Spangle. She is a full sister to our 8000gns heifer Glenrock Icemaiden which sold at this year’s Glenrock production sale to Charlie Boden’s Sportsman’s herd.
November 2013: Glenrock heifers shine at Stars of the Future Calf Show
This year’s Stars of the Future Calf Show, Stirling, was once again a successful outing for some of the younger members of the herd, with two young heifers in sparkling form.
First to take success was Glenrock Illusion, a daughter of 23,000gns sire Goldies Comet out of Glenrock Spangle. This young heifer, born in January this year, is a full sister to our 8000gns heifer Glenrock Icemaiden which sold in September this year to Charlie Boden’s Sportsman’s herd.
Illusion was tapped out as Limousin junior female champion by judge Ian Wilkinson, Perth, before going on to take the overall junior Limousin championship and then reserve overall spot in the interbreed Continental junior championship.
Also having a good day for the Glenrock herd was Glenrock Black Hannah, a Bailea Black BMW daughter out of Glenrock Caviar, herself a Tarbally daughter. November 2012-born Hannah won her class before going on to be named reserve champion senior Limousin Female.
October 2013: Glenrock herd dominates North West Limousin Club herd competition
This year’s North West Limousin Club herd competition was a huge success for the Glenrock herd, with five major awards collected, including the overall championship.
The herd was also named first in the large herd section, under judge Peter Kirton of the Ashledge herd. Alongside that two of the younger members of the herd picked up first prizes too, with Glenrock Illusion picking up the award for the best young heifer and Glenrock Humdinger collecting a first prize in the young bull class.
Illusion is a Goldies Comet daughter out of one of the herd’s leading cows, Glenrock Spangle, herself a Kype Interrogate daughter. Meanwhile, Humdinger is Illusion’s maternal brother, also being out of Spangle, but he is by Sympa.
We also won a second prize in the youngstock class, topping off what was an incredibly successful competition for the herd.
September 2013: Glenrock production sale hits 8000gns
The production sale of Limousin females on 14 September at Carlisle saw a strong demand for those on offer, with Glenrock Spangle breeding being particularly sought after.
Selling for our top price of 8000gns was Glenrock Icemaiden, a January 2013-born heifer by Goldies Comet. ET bred, Icemaiden is a daughter of Spangle was sold to Charlie Boden for his Sportsman’s herd, Cheshire.
Following her at 5000gns was Glenrock Cancan who sold with her Bremore Artist heifer calf, Glenrock Hyacinth, at foot. Cancan is an October 2007-born Rocky daughter out of the Marquis daughter Glenrock Victoria and sold in-calf to Glenrock Fortune. Buying her were the Hunter family, Mauchline.
Charlie Boden then paid 3500gns for Glenrock Eternity, a March 2009-born Bremore Artist daughter. She is also out of a Marquis daughter, this time Glenrock Una. Again in-calf to Glenrock Fortune she was joined by her heifer calf Glenrcok Hermoine which sold at 2400gns, also going to the Sportsman’s herd. Hermoine is a Castleview Deloitte daughter.
And making 3400gns was Glenrock Bordeaux. This Nectar sired third calver sold in-calf to Glenrock Fortune and is out of Lisette, a Vainqueur daughter. She was bought by Anthony Booth, Aston, Sheffield.
Thomas then sold his second calving cow Brickhill Duclos at 3000gns. Duclos is a Mas Du Clo daughter out of Brickhill Rose, a Moustic daughter and was in-calf to Bremore Artist. Her heifer calf, Eagleside Black Heaven, a Bailea Black BMW daughter then sold at 2200gns, with both bought by an undisclosed buyer.
Also making 3000gns was Glenrock Excess, an April 2009-born Bremore Artist daughter out of Glenrock Buttercup, a Glenrock Rocus daughter. This second calver sold with her Castleview Deloitte daughter, Glenrock Iona at foot and was knocked down to J C Rendall, Orkney.
Spangle breeding was back in demand again when we offered four embryos out of Spangle and either sired by Haltcliffe Vermount, Sympa, Goldies Comet or Bremore Artist. A pair of these sold at 2200gns apiece, while another pair made 2000gns each, all being bought by an undisclosed buyer.
We would like to wish all buyers every success with their purchases and look forward to seeing their progeny in the years to come.
September 2013: New sires join Glenrock Texels
A brace of new tups have joined the sire line-up for the Glenrock Texel flock in the last few weeks, with ram lamb Brackenridge Usain purchased at the Scottish National Sale, Lanark, and shearling tup Loosebeare Topper I bought at the Solway and Tyne Texel Breeders Club sale, Carlisle.
Usain is a son of the 13,000gns tup Scholars Tiny Tempo and is out of a Rascarrel Panther which is a full sister to the much admired tup Teiglum Rembrandt bred by the Clark family and sire of a number of quality progeny, including show winning males and females in Brazil.
Topper I, meanwhile, was bought for his correctness, scale and power and was breed champion at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show and first prize shearling when purchased at Carlisle. He is sired by Quercus Puregold and is out of a dam by Summerwood Grand Union, himself sire of 120,000gns tup Loosebeare Imp.
September 2013: Glenrock Eiger calf makes her mark at Cally calf sale
A calf by our 7000gns Charolais bull, Glenrock Eiger, was one of the leading prize winners and top sellers at the recent show potential calf show and sale at Caledonian Marts.
Bred and exhibited by Hugh and Lynne Dunlop, Holehouse, the heifer was Charolais champion on the day and sold for £2800 to Craig Malone, Pitcairn.
August 2013: Glenrock 2013 production sale set for 14th September
The Glenrock herd will be offering a choice selection of females in its 2013 production sale which is being staged at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, on Saturday 14th September. The sale will include a number of top quality cows and heifers from the herd’s leading families, including siblings to our outstanding show heifer Glenrock Fantastic. August 2013: Glenrock cattle perform well at Limousin Grand Prix
The inaugural Scottish Limousin Grand Prix held at the Black Isle Show proved another successful outing for the Glenrock show team, with Glenrock Fantastic continuing her tremendous run and young bull Glenrock Highwayman performing well too.
Fantastic, a Haltcliffe Vermount daughter out of Glenrock Spangle, won her class before going on to be tapped out as female champion and senior champion. She then rounded the day off being named reserve breed champion under judge Craig Ridley of the Haltcliffe herd.
Not to be outdone April 2012-born Highwayman enjoyed a similarly impressive result, being reserve male and reserve junior champion. He is a Sympa son out of Glenrock Campari, herself a maternal sister to Glenrock Fantastic.
Also picking up a first prize was yearling heifer Glenrock Honeysuckle. Sired by Castleview Deloitte, she is out of Glenrock Cellest, a Ronick Hawk daughter.
July 2013: Glenrock Fantastic on sparkling form at Great Yorkshire
The Glenrock team enjoyed another successful show when they ventured south of the border to the Great Yorkshire Show.
Leading the way once again was our Haltcliffe Vermount daughter Glenrock Fantastic. This heifer, out of Glenrock Spangle, a Kype Interrogate daughter. Fantastic followed her excellent form at the Royal Highland, winning her class at Great Yorkshire, before going on to be tapped out as reserve female champion and reserve overall champion.
The following day Fantastic was also part of the winning interbreed team of four, adding to her accolades for this season. Glenrock Honeysuckle meanwhile picked up a fifth prize ticket in another strong class of yearling heifers.
June 2013: Fantastic Royal Highland Show for Glenrock females
Glenrock females were on sparkling form at this month’s Royal Highland Show, with Glenrock Fantastic continuing her winning ways when collecting the reserve female and reserve breed championships under judge Meirion Thomas of the Nebo herd.
Fantastic, a daughter of the 100,000gns sire Haltcliffe Vermount had earlier won her class before then being tapped out as the reserve female champion and finishing off a tremendous day with the reserve breed championship.
Following along not far behind was our younger heifer, Glenrock Honeysuckle, a January 2012-born daughter of Castleview Deloitte. Honeysuckle picked up a second in a strong class and is out of Glenrock Cellest, a Ronick Hawk daughter.
June 2013: Derbyshire Texel Breeders’ Club visits Glenrock
On Sunday 9 June we were delighted to welcome 37 members of the Derbyshire Texel Breeders club for a farm visit to see the Texel flock and Limousin herd.
With the weather being easily the best weekend we’ve had for more than two years the Club certainly chose the right day to visit and we were delighted to be able to show off the flock and herd in such glorious conditions.

June 2013: Glenrock Fantastic on winning form at Cumberland Show
The Glenrock herd got the show season off to a great start at Cumberland Show on Saturday 8 June, collecting the Limousin breed championship, the interbreed cattle championship and to top it off the show’s champion of champions award too.
Leading the way for Glenrock was our November 2010-born heifer Glenrock Fantastic. Sired by 100,000gns sire Haltcliffe Vermount, Fantastic is out of Glenrock Spangle, a Kype Interrogate daughter and was placed first in her class before going on to take the breed and interbreed championship awards and finally the champion of champions title.
Fantastic also teamed up with Glenrock Honeysuckle to take first place in the pairs class in the Limousins, with Honeysuckle, a Castleview Deloitte daughter out of Glenrock Cellest, a Ronick Hawk daughter, also winning the yearling heifer class.
And the Glenrock success didn’t end there as out May 2012-born Charolais heifer Glenrock Harriet took the breed’s female championship before being tapped out as reserve breed champion. Harriet is sired by Lowerffryd Benhurr and is out of Glenrock Blancmange, a Farleycopse Telemarque daughter.
February 2013: Glenrock Garibaldi sells for 13,000gns in Carlisle
Having been impressed with the September 2009-born Glenrock Garibaldi since a young calf, we were delighted to sell him in Carlisle this month for 13,000gns to Messrs G H Wallis and Son, Richmond, North Yorkshire.
This ET-bred son of the 42,000gns Wilodge Vantastic is out of the Marquis daughter Glenrock Saspirilla, a cow who needs no introduction in this herd as she is also the dam of the 24,000gns Glenrock Ventura and the 8000gns Glenrock Domino. Garibaldi carries a beef value of +36 and a muscle figure of +36. We’d like to wish the Wallis family the very best with their purchase.
November 2012: Glenrock Honeysuckle takes Stars of the Future junior female championship
The Stars of the Future calf show at Forfar was once again a successful outing for the Glenrock herd, with January-born heifer Glenrock Honeysuckle taking the junior female championship under judge James Hazard of the Mereside herd.
Honeysuckle is sired by herd sire Castleview Deloitte and is out of Glenrock Cellest, a Ronick Hawk daughter.
Sportsman’s Scout, the Texel tup that the Glenrock flock bought a share in last year, was recently named the 2012 Sire of the Year, having achieved the highest grossing three sons at Texel Sheep Society National sales in 2012.
Scout, who sadly passed away earlier this autumn, was shared with the Clark, Campbell and Fleming family’s flocks and it was three lambs from the Teiglum flock of Clark Farms that qualified him for the award.
The first Scout lambs born at Glenrock will be available for sale as shearlings in 2013 and are showing great promise to live up to their siblings’ reputation.
On a difficult day’s trading at Carlisle the Glenrock herd sold to a top of 5500gns for the North West Bull Derby winner Glenrock Grandslam.
Sired by Ampertaine Commander, he is out of the herd’s leading Kype Interrogate daughter Glenrock Spangle, dam of many successful and top priced males and females from the herd.
He sold to Messrs Milburn for pedigree use in the Wallend herd, Greenhead, Carlisle.
Our exceptional heifer Glenrock Fantastic continued her winning ways at September’s Westmorland Show, winning the Limousin championship before going on to be named interbreed champion too.
On top of that she also took top spot in the North West Heifer Derby Champion, while her maternal brother Glenrock Grandslam won the North West Bull Derby and Eagleside Gaga was reserve Heifer Derby Champion.
September 2012: Glenrock Texels sell to 2000gns at Carlisle
The Glenrock Texel flock enjoyed a successful day at the Solway and Tyne Texel Club’s sale at Carlisle selling to a top price of 2000gns for Glenrock Shakalaka Boom Boom, a son of Kingsland Rock out of a dam by Crookholm Impressario. He sold with an index of 291 and was bought by Eskdale Forestry, Langholm. The eight shearlings sold on the day averaged £902.
On the same day the flock also invested in a new stock sire, buying a share in 5000gns ram lamb Castlecairn Tim Tam Tanga. This son of 32,000gns sire Hull House Space Cowboy is out of a dam by Muiresk Blondin.
June 2012: Glenrock female draft sells well at Carlisle
This year’s female sale from the Glenrock herd consisted of a draft of yearling heifers which met a ready and level trade at Carlisle when they averaged £2520.
Taking the top price was Glenrock Galaxy, a Castleview Deloitte daughter out of Glenrock Dubai, herself a Bremore Artist daughter. She sold to D W Youngson, Ellon, Aberdeenshire, at 3200gns.
Then making 3000gns was Glenrock Black Geisha, a black heifer by Bailea BMW and out of Glenrock Caviar, a Tabarly daughter. She went to C R White, Helston, Cornwall.
And just after that at 2900gns was Glenrock Gypsy, a Sympa daughter out of Glenrock Unisson, a Romeo daughter. Buying her was D Taylor, Wigton, Cumbria.
June 2012: Glenrock heifers win Royal Highland interbreed team award
This year’s Royal Highland saw the winning form or our heifers, Glenrock Elusive and Glenrock Fantastic continue in exceptional style.
Glenrock Elusive won her class, while Glenrock Fantastic took second place and went on to be named reserve junior champion. Both these heifers then went on to be part of the team which won the prestigious interbreed team award for the Limousin breed.
Elusive is by Wilodge Vantastic and out of Glenrock Caprice (Saspirilla daughter and full sister to Glenrock Ventura), while Fantastic is by Haltcliffe Vermount and out of Glenrock Spangle.
June 2012: Glenrock Elusive wins interbreed at Cumberland Show
Continuing the form from last month’s Northumberland County Show, both Glenrock Elusive and Glenrock Fantastic won their classes at the Cumberland Show, with Elusive being named Limousin champion and Fantastic standing reserve to her. Elusive them went on to take the interbreed beef championship.
Elusive is by Wilodge Vantastic and out of Glenrock Caprice (Saspirilla daughter and full sister to Glenrock Ventura), while Fantastic is by Haltcliffe Vermount and out of Glenrock Spangle.
May 2012: Glenrock Fantastic is champion of champions at Northumberland County Show
This Haltcliffe Vermount daughter is out of Glenrock Spangle and now heads to Cumberland Show and the Royal Highland.
Also doing us proud was Glenrock Elusive when she won her class and stood reserve Limousin champion to Fantastic. Elusive is by Wilodge Vantastic and out of Glenrock Saspirilla.
May 2012: Glenrock Fortune sells at 16,000gns
The May sale at Carlisle proved to be a particularly successful one for the Glenrock herd, with our Wilodge Vantastic son, Glenrock Fortune, selling for 16,000gns to Jack Neale, Cornwall. He is out of Glenrock Spangle.
Also selling well for us was Glenrock Fandango, a Bremore Artist son out of Glenrock Apricot when he sold at 10,000gns to Messrs Smiths of Bloxham and Glenrock Flip, by Ampertaine Bravo and out of Glenrock Dream, selling at 7500gns.
It was also great to see Glenrock genetics performing well for other breeders too, with Charlie Boden selling Sportsman’s Ferguson at 14,000gns. This Wilodge Vantastic son is out of Glenrock Ursula, a Marquis daughter which goes back to Crownhead Busby. Ursula was bought by Charlie Boden for 7000gns at our production sale in 2009.
February 2012: Glenrock Fiesta sells at 6500gns
This year’s first sale of the year saw Glenrock Fiesta, a Wilodge Vantastic son out of Glenrock Riverdance sell at 6500gns to Messrs Evans for the Cledwen herd, Abergele.
November 2011: Glenrock herd on winning form at Stars of the Future calf show
The herd’s younger members lived up to expectations at the Stars of the Future calf show at Forfar, with all three of our entries picking up top two placings.
Taking a red ticket was Glenrock Fantastic, a Haltcliffe Vermount daughter out of Glenrock Spangle, while taking second placings were Glenrock Fortune, a Wilodge Vantastic son and Glenrock Glayva, a Rainbow Simon daughter.
October 2011: Glenrock Elusive wins at Agri-Expo
Taking a first prize at Agri-Expo was Glenrock Elusive our exceptional heifer by Wilodge Vantastic and out of Glenrock Caprice.
October 2011: Glenrock Firefly sells at 6200gns
Following on from his win at the North West bull derby Glenrock Firefly took a call of 6200gns at Carlisle this month. This Fieldson Alfy son sold to J G and S C Jones for their Heol herd.
September 2011: Glenrock takes Derby wins at Westmorland
We enjoyed an excellent day at the North West Limousin Club’s Derby at Westmorland Show, winning the heifer section with Glenrock Elusive, who is by Wilodge Vantastic and out of Glenrock Caprice (Saspirilla daughter and full sister to Glenrock Ventura)
Alongside that we then took a first in the bull section with Glenrock Firefly, a Fieldson Alfy son out of Glenrock Cameo.
August 2011: Glenrock Elusive is interbreed champion at Moffat
Glenrock Elusive continued her good run from the National Limousin Show by taking the breed and interbreed championship at Moffat Show. Elusive is by Wilodge Vantastic and out of Glenrock Caprice.
At the same show Thomas took the reserve breed championship with his own heifer, Mullary Eminent, a Rocky daughter out of Bremore Veneer.
July 2011: Good day for Glenrock at National Limousin Show
The Glenrock team enjoyed a successful day at the National Limousin Show, Carlisle, taking second place in a very strong class of heifers with Wilodge Vantastic daughter Glenrock Elusive.
Thomas enjoyed a successful show too, with his Eaglesfield herd picking up a third place with Mullary Eminent, a Rocky daughter.
June 2011: Mullary Eminent wins at Cumberland Show
Thomas’s Eaglesfield herd was on winning form at this month’s Cumberland Show, with his heifer Mullary Eminent being crowned champion Limousin and interbreed champion. Sired by Rocky this Irish bred heifer is out of Bremore Veneer, a Nenuphar daughter.
February 2011: Glenrock bulls in demand at February sales
The opening round of bull sales this year has been a good one for the Glenrock herd.
At the main Limousin sale at Carlisle in the middle of the month Glenrock Eagle lead the way at 10,000gns. This Fieldson Alfy son is out of Glenrock Spangle and sold to the Dell herd of R G Dodd. Making 4500gns on the same day was Glenrock Empire a Homebyres Visitor son.
And selling at 4400gns at Stirling a few weeks earlier was Glenrock Echo, a Wilodge Tonka son.
November 2010: Glenrock Eagle takes interbreed at Stars of the Future Show
The inaugural Stars of the Future calf show at Forfar saw the Glenrock herd on top form, taking the senior interbreed title with Glenrock Eagle, a Fieldson Alfy son out of Glenrock Spangle. Eagle, who also won at the North West bull derby back in the autumn will be in the team for the Febraury sale at Carlisle.
October 2010: Glenrock Eduardo sells at 8500gns
Leading the way at the October sale at Carlisle for the Glenrock herd was Glenrock Eduardo at 8500gns. This Bremore Arstist son is out of Glenrock Bridget.
September 2010: Glenrock Eagle wins bull derby
This year’s North West bull derby once again proved a happy hunting ground for the Glenrock herd, with Glenrock Eagle winning the male title. Eagle is by Fieldson Alfy and out of Glenrock Spangle.
August 2010: Glenrock Diamante takes top ticket at Moffat
Glenrock Diamante continued her winning ways from earlier in the summer when she took the breed championship at Moffat Show this month. This Objat daughter is out of Glenrock Rupee, a Festin daughter.
May 2010: Glenrock Daydreamer sells for 5000gns at Carlisle
Selling for 5000gns at the May bull sale at Carlisle was Glenrock Daydreamer, a son of Ronick Hawk son out of Glenrock Apricot.
February 2010: Domino leads Glenrock Carlisle trade
Heading up the prices for the Glenrock herd in the February bull sale at Carlisle was Glenrock Domino selling for 8000gns, a son of Glenrock Spartacus out of our leading cow Glenrock Saspirilla, a Marquis daughter. Also selling well was Glenrock Dauphin at 6000gns. He’s by Mas Du Clo and is out of Glenrock Spangle.
